Listing Criteria

• Food and Beverage Guidelines

   

  Food And Beverage businesses listed on Why Go must meet the following criteria:

  1. Serve prepared food.
  2. Cater to the public; no membership requirements.
  3. Operate on a regularly scheduled basis.
  4. Remain open for a minimum of 12 consecutive weeks annually.
  5. Maintain a permanent location in a single city/town but may provide delivery services to multiple locations. Food trucks may be included, provided their schedules and locations are accessible online with a valid website for verification.

   

  Food And Beverage businesses that qualify for listing on Why Go include:

  • Dine-in establishments
  • Take-out services
  • Delivery-only restaurants
  • Fast food outlets
  • Diners, Cafes and coffee shops
  • Bars and pubs offering prepared food (e.g., steaks, burgers, fries)
  • Chain restaurants
  • Sandwich shops
  • Tapas establishments
  • Ice cream shops
  • Dessert/pastry shops
  • Food trucks with publicly available schedules and locations
  • Reservation-required restaurants
  • In-business restaurants (e.g., within retail stores or hotels)
  • Supermarkets with a designated dining section

   

  Food And Beverage businesses that do not qualify for Why Go include:

  • Third Party Delivery Services
  • Delivery services without food preparation
  • Ingredient or grocery delivery services
  • Catering businesses
  • Personal chefs (see Activities)
  • Banquet/wedding venues
  • Cooking classes (see Activities)
  • Chocolate or candy stores selling only boxed/packaged items
  • Pop-up or short-term restaurants
  • Clubs with membership requirements
  • Bars/pubs serving only light snacks (e.g., pretzels, crackers, nuts)
  • Businesses offering pre-packaged meals ordered and paid for in advance
  • Beverage establishments serving only alcoholic drinks and/or light prepared foods
  • Performance venues with meals (see Activities)
  • Trains or boats with meals (see Activities)

• Accommodation

  Accommodation businesses listed on Why Go must meet the following criteria:

  1. Have a registered business name
  2. Be open to the public, no membership required
  3. Have a single permanent location
  4. Open for a minimum 3 months a year
  5. Check In Time must be available at anytime after your inital check in time. 
  6. Minimum stay no longer than 7 nights
  7. Must offer a 24hr free cancellation
  8. Adhere to further restriction in association to your category below

  Hotels

  • Must have multiple rooms available
  • 24hr 7days staffed reception
  • Daily housekeeping
  • Private bathrooms in each room 

  Motels

  Campgrounds

  Holiday Homes/Apartments

• Activities

  Activities must meet the following to be listed on Why Go:

  1. Have a registered business name
  2. Be open to the public, no membership required
  3. Have a single permanent location
  4. Open for a minimum 3 months a year
  5. Must offer a 24hr free cancellation for single day activities/tours.
